On an Instagram stories quiz, I asked my followers to try to date when the following drawing in my collection was from: 1929, 1968, or 1985. This was a trick question, as each of these time periods actually influenced the next.

Long drop earrings, a pencil-thin boyish physique, along with short skirts and hair were popular with flappers in the 1920s. Those style elements reappeared in the late 1960s, and again in the 1980s, when another wave of fashion that was influenced by the 1960s happened.
